In 1948, Dr. Hans Bockels founded a company based in Aachen that bears his name. Before that, he worked at AEG in Berlin in the measurement technology sector. After the reconstruction of Germany after the Second World War, there were many unactivated bombs, grenades and ammunition in the ruins. Therefore, Dr. Hans Bockels develops and manufactures a metal detector for civilian use, the purpose of which is to protect people and machines from danger. He also produced a special mobile office for the detection of shells in the wood industry, as well as for the detection of sunken ammunition in the waters near Hamburg. As the amount of remaining ammunition began to dwindle, Bockels thought about how to continue using his knowledge and technology for the benefit of mankind. As a result, Bockels became the first German manufacturer to use metal detection technology in an industrial setting. In those days, metal detectors were known as "fix to Bockels". That technology evolved systematically, and towards the middle of the 50s of the last century, tape scales, together with equipment from Boekels, began to be added to the daily production process.

Finally, in the 1960s, dynamic checkweighers - "checkweighers" - were included in the range of products from Boeckels to follow the filling process in order to reduce the waste of raw materials, since the process for checking the net content was introduced in Germany in 1972 years, as well as the whole world. Dynamic control scales are mainly used to check the weight of the packaged product in accordance with the law. Boeckels is becoming known throughout Europe as a manufacturer of high-quality "checkweighers", reliable metal detectors and industrial scales.

On January 1, 1998, the company "Dr Hans Boekels GMBH & Co" was completely taken over by the company Sartorius AG Göttingen. The previous year, Boekels had a turnover of 26 million German marks, a profit of 1.9 million German marks. During that period, 151 workers were employed. With this strategic move, the Sartorius company significantly expands its production and sales program. The name of the company has been changed to Sartorius Intec. Over the years, the Sartorius company strives to develop process equipment, to improve it in accordance with the needs and demands of users, and thus becomes a pioneer in the production of metal detectors, dynamic control scales and industrial scales.
